It all started at a Junior Motorsports TV Series Event.

When the drivers began to talk about the cost of Karting and the tire Bill at the end of a race weekend. Monday morning Chester Hester at Goldspeed USA call me to see if I would put together a Asphalt Series with one of the Maxxis Tires. somthing that would help cut some of the cost of raceing for the karters. My first words to Chester was no way. the Asphalt Drivers were already tired of the tire changes that were taking place at the National level.

Chester wanted to know what I though asphalt racing needed to bring the drivers back. My answer was a tire that no tire manufactory would want to make. Something that would not cost a lot and would maybe last more than a race or two. We went on to talk about the problems that were taking place at the asphalt tracks with prepping and cost of cutting. I told him that on a State Level these things were killing our enters. If we could stop the prepping and cutting some how. Maybe a Maxxis series would work.

After 2 months of talking and working with Chester. We made the anosment at Kartfest 2006 that all Carolina Asphalt Racing Events would be running the New Maxxis Asphalt Tire.
